Floridian Nights
Kinda been a while, but as I type this we're continuing our ongoing effort to resize photos and review Lee's video footage.
At one point, and sheerly out of van boredom, we began creating a Powerpoint presentation of the tour. Alas, it has been tossed in the bin of shorlived ideas at the moment, right next to animated play dough shorts and chimpanzee merch attendants. Not to say it has been completely shelved. We've completed our 4 show run in Florida and are now making our way to Chapel Hill, NC. What can we say about our experiences in florida.
Let's do this in bullet point:
- We did our cover of Cecilia in Tallahassee and dedicated it to the French Kicks fellas.
- The Orpheum in Tampa...2per, Lazy & Kelly = the bestestest bartendars in all of FL.
- Miami :-O the night we played was a club night called Revolver. the Little Ones were able to move their feet around after playing, not only to the Kicks, but to the ridiculous dance party that erupted after the 2 bands had finished playing.
- The florida experience crescendo'd in Orlando at a place called Tijuana Flats where all the Little Ones experimented with their hottest hot sauce, "Smack Her Ass and Call Her Sally - Death Vader". Yes, that is the title of the hot sauce. The Raulph Wiggum "taste like burning" quote would be a drastic understatement. Eyes watered, and flames were smothered, but the show went on. The audience at the Social were generous and kind. Fun was once again had on both sides of the stage.
