Newcastle
Man, where do I start.
It started snowing right as we got into the van yesterday morning. Fortunately, We managed to get ahead of the weather and it was nearly clear skies the entire way to Newcastle. Oh, and we even caught a glimpse of a rainbow.
It was a long drive so I was a bit groggy when hopping out of the van. I was outside for barely a minute when I caught a tall figure out of the corner of my eye coming up to me. He quickly grabbed me and spun me around to face him. When I finally focused in on the face surrounded by a furry hood I realized it was Joby Ford from fellow LA band, The Bronx! we all know each other from back in the day, past bands, etc... They were playing at the Academy the following day and were just walking around when they spotted us unloading. Small world. We caught up for moment and of course invited them to the show.
It was such a great crowd last night. There was clapping, moving and overall fun being had on both sides of the stage.
Sorry to those who wanted to hear Ring the bells though. We met a sweet girl named Ellie who asked for hugs from all the band members. We were happy to oblige. A lovely place, a lovely show. Onward to Manchester.

Hello there! It's Ellie from newcastle :) thank you so much for my little mention! Made me smile. I may have to come see you guys when you support those bands in Manchester, it'll be a canny travel but if you're gonna be here for 2 months I should probably try and Manchester's the closest place!

Really, really enjoyed the show and thanks for the nice blog on Newcastle and the great photos. I was wearing the Arctic Monkeys tshirt with a clipboard getting people to sign up to your mailing list. Anyway I got you on myspace now so when you come back to Newcastle expect to see me there again. Have fun in the UK guys. Have to say though that Newcastle is the best city for the fans so you better come back. Oh, and I boutht the single today. It is nice! Sexy time. Genqui.
