back to Denver

The worst. Horrible. We are "the suck" at facilitating our daily narrative. moving on...

It is roughly 12am in the morning. Good Morning! The Little Ones are somewhere between Las Vegas and SLC. We're slowly but surely making our way to Denver for a gig at the lovely Larimer Lounge. (have some alliteration). We were there a few weeks ago for the Monolith Festival at Red Rock. Obiligatory fotos below:

10hrs later...

Smack dab in the middle of Utah. Yeargh. Foresty, snowcapped mountains in the distance. The air is crisp with subtle tinges of burning wood. It's been a moment since we've headed out this way. Glad we did...are.

To Denver for a spell and then off to Minneapolis.

Back to the road trip.

p.s. you're missing out alex. see you in Minneapolis.

little ones on little ones...

ian: hi ed
ed: hi howre ya?
ian: wassup. whatr u doin right now?
ed:oh I am pondering life's pleasures in Dave Newton's studio right now.
ian: cool. what pleasure would u say tickles you the most?
ed: cookies and recording...pizza and singing
ian: hand in hand. if you could have any guest on the record, who would it be?
living or dead? factual or fictional.
ed: I would probably choose Kermit The Frog. It's my childhood calling. We have
a similar timbre. Ultimately, it would be cool to have a Kanye West or Common on
the record so we could cross over. I am thinking global here.

ian: wow. you've certainly set the bar quite high...for this hypothetical exercise.

brian is aboug to lay down a keyboard line for a non-album track that we actually cannot disclose at this time. brian, what's your inspiration going into this take?

brian: the need for bbq. if i get this keyboard take down. the reward is
bbq.

ian: i wish you luck! lee, how are you feeling today?

lee: sad the summer has come to an end. but my summer spirit lives on.

ian: ian, what's the word?

ian: the word is the little ones be finishing up some recording this week and then hitting the road. i have a gazillion pics and vids from the summer. we'll see what happens. but starting this tour the tour blog will be back in full effect.

ian: where did the summer go?

ian: it went in a blink of an eye. festivals in the US and UK with some touring in between. we've been fully immersed. from the dry dirt fields of bonnaroo, to the mudpie party at Glastonbury, the double header Reading/Leeds weekend, the altitude of Monolith, and the humid ACL. it was one of those things where you wish you could take the culmination of experiences and drop em in a pair of virtual reality goggles.

back to recording...
